Frequently asked questions related to Depop

Why can’t I set a title when posting to Depop?

Depop does not allow you to set a title when posting a listing.

Instead, the title is automatically generated by Depop based on the description and item characteristics you provide.

When importing listings from Depop, there is no official title available.

In this case, Crosslist either uses the slug from the URL or the first line of the description.

If you prefer the first line of the description to be treated as the title, you can enable this option in your account settings, which will prepend the title to your description.

INFO

The slug is generated by Depop from the first line of the description, not from the AI-generated title they display in the app.

WARNING

If you enable the option to prepend the title to your description (for re-importing and creating clean listings), make sure the total length of your description does not exceed 1,000 characters.

Even if your original description is shorter, adding the title may push it over the limit and trigger a warning.

How do I set an address in Depop?

Depop does not provide a dedicated settings page to enter your shipping address. Instead, you need to create a new listing to set your address.

Click here to create a listing manually on Depop.

Now, in the Shipping section, you'll be able to add a new shipping address to your account.

Once entered, this address will be saved to your account and automatically applied to all future listings.

Why are my Depop listings showing square images?

Some marketplaces, such as Poshmark and Depop, require images to be in a square format (aspect ratio 1:1).

Other marketplaces, like eBay, allow rectangular images.

When you cross list from a marketplace such as eBay to Depop, Crosslist will automatically add black borders to your rectangular images to convert them into squares.

This ensures that no important parts of your product image are cropped out, which would happen if you uploaded the image directly to Depop without adjustments.

If you prefer to remove the black borders and instead zoom in on your images, follow this tutorial.
