Mercari

Mercari gives you two shipping options:

  • Standard shipping — Mercari provides a discounted prepaid label (prepaid)
  • Ship on your own — you provide the label (ship yourself)

Before listing to Mercari through Crosslist, you must choose between Prepaid shipping or Ship yourself in your Crosslist shipping profiles.

Prepaid shipping

This option corresponds to Mercari’s Standard shipping, where Mercari provides a prepaid shipping label at a discounted rate.

The shipping cost is based on the package weight and optionally package dimensions, which you’ll need to enter in the Crosslist listing form:

Shipping weight

Crosslist uses the weight to automatically select the cheapest shipping provider available through Mercari.

Mercari lets you choose whether the buyer or seller covers shipping.

If you enable Always free domestic shipping, Crosslist will apply Seller pays.

If left untoggled, the default setting of Buyer pays will be used.

INFO

You can set default package weights, default package dimensions, and select a preferred carrier (DHL, UPS, FedEx, or USPS) in your Crosslist shipping profiles.

If your preferred carrier offers multiple rates, Crosslist will pick the cheapest one.

If your preferred carrier is unavailable, Crosslist will default to the most affordable alternative.

INFO

If your package is smaller than a standard shoe box (14” × 10” × 5”), Mercari may offer a discounted shipping rate.

To unlock this discount, simply enter the package dimensions in Crosslist so they can be passed on to Mercari.

Ship yourself

This option corresponds to Mercari’s Ship on your own method, where you provide the shipping label yourself.

In this case, Mercari does not allow you to charge buyers for shipping — all Ship yourself listings are automatically set to free shipping for the buyer.

No shipping cost needs to be entered in the Crosslist form for this method.
