Using your own SKU for eBay

By default, Crosslist uses its own product reference as the SKU when posting to eBay.

There are several advantages to this approach:

  • No need to complete the SKU field: Users do not need to complete the SKU field in the listing form, even though eBay requires it for posting. Crosslist automatically takes care of providing a valid SKU.
  • SKUs are always unique: Crosslist SKUs follow the UUID format, ensuring uniqueness and preventing accidental overwrites when relisting.

However, some users may prefer using their own SKUs for better synchronization with other software. Crosslist provides an option to disable its default SKU.

To disable the default Crosslist SKU, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your account settings.
  2. In the Other section, check the box labeled Use your own SKU for eBay.

WARNING

If you use your own SKU, you must make sure that your SKUs across the Crosslist application are unique. If they are not, you may overwrite listings unwillingly when listing on eBay.
