Using your own SKU for eBay

By default, Crosslist uses its own product reference as the SKU when posting to eBay.

There are several advantages to this approach:

  • No need to complete the SKU field: You don't have to manually enter an SKU in the listing form — Crosslist automatically generates a valid SKU, which eBay requires.
  • SKUs are always unique: Crosslist-generated SKUs follow the UUID format, ensuring uniqueness and preventing accidental overwrites when relisting.

However, if you prefer to use your own SKUs for synchronization with other software, Crosslist allows you to override the default behavior.

To use your own SKU:

  1. Go to your account settings.
  2. In the Other section, check the box labeled Use your own SKU for eBay.

WARNING

If you enable this setting, you must ensure that all your SKUs are unique across your Crosslist account.

Otherwise, you risk overwriting listings unintentionally when posting to eBay.
